Autumn Leaves Senior Apartments

Community Garden

Autumn Leaves Apartments are part of Rural Communities Housing Development Corporation (RCHDC) in Ukiah. The residents there have had a garden for many years, with a few residents growing such large plots of vegetables that it looks like a small farm! These individuals really have green thumbs. In 2013, the Gardens Project helped to make their garden even more accessible for them by adding 20 or more raised beds. The raised beds made it easier for the gardeners to care for their plants without bending over as much, and gave new gardeners with limited mobility the chance to participate. The Pinoleville Youth Build program constructed the raised beds, as well as a communication board in the garden.
