Willits Integrated Service Center

Community Garden

The Willits Community Garden is springing back into action! With the help of hard-working volunteers, Mendocino AmeriCorps members and passionate locals the garden feeds more than twenty Willits residents and their friends and family.

The WISC Community Garden was initially established in 2007. In 2010, Gardens Project was approached to help in community organizing and supporting garden management. Since then, the WISC garden has been a part of the Gardens Project Cooperative Network in partnership with The Willits Integrated Service Center. In 2012, Gardens Project provided an AmeriCorp VISTA service member to build capacity in the WISC garden full time for one year. In 2015 and again in 2018, other AmeriCorp VISTA service members prioritized empowering the WISC garden as part of their service terms. Gardens Project staff continue to support this garden.
